In what was has EAW been different from the previous feds you've been in?
Without a doubt the stability, a lot of feds in my past closed literally a week after they opened, which was frustrating. It was always an adventure trying to find a fed that kept its doors open. EAW was literally my last gasp with efedding and obviously, it has worked out. I love this place.
As someone who has trouble committing to one character, how have you kept up with Darkane all these years?
I feel like he is the most complete character that I've had and I love writing as him. I think that's the key.. if you're not in sync with your character and you don't enjoy his or her gimmick, then it can put a damper on your motivation.
If you were given the opportunity to face someone from Showdown or Voltage, who would you chose and why?
Showdown: I would definitely say Cage, because both of our characters are wacky and unstable at times and I just think we could compete in an absolute barbaric match. I'd also like a rematch with Rex, I feel like I have evolved since our last encounter and it'd be interesting to see how our promos would play out this time around.
Voltage: 100% Jamie O'Hara, he's been the standard bearer on Voltage for a while now and I think we could tear the house down. He'd probably school my ass but it'd still be fun as fuck.
How has your picbase influenced your character? Are there any other wrestlers who've help mould Darkane into what he is today?
Fucking Raven, he's influenced my character big time, always a fan of his promos. His look is absolutely perfect for Darkane and I couldn't imagine being anybody else. When I first signed up I was so glad he was available. As for other wrestlers.. maybe the Sandman and Brian Pillman, but Raven is the main influence for sure.
What is your ideal length to an EAW live show/FPV?
I think it depends on the FPV, if it's a supershow or something like that I wouldn't mind more than a few hours worth but if it's something like Grand Rampage or Pain for Pride, I think you go all out, that's not to say that you shouldn't go all out on supershows and such, but something like Pain for Pride you plan that shit months in advance and you want to put out the best possible show, one that will remain in EAW lore for years to come. Which leads me to your next question.
When do you think EAW live shows should start? (What time of day)
Again I think it depends on the show, I'd say supershows and brand FPVs should start at like 6 or 7 PM. I think that's a good sweet spot, but for massive shows, ones that you know will take up some time, I think 5 PM EST is a good start time. That way it ends late into the night as opposed to into the wee hours of the morning.
Your Ultra Finisher makes me cringe, really every match you're in makes me cringe, how do you sleep at night?
If Darkane is making you cringe then he's doing his job. Believe it or not, he actually got some good shut-eye last night, he found a decent sized unoccupied dumpster (sometimes it's a battle for supremacy with other hobos)
There ever gonna be a collaboration between #DarkaneTimes and the Ryan Wilson Show?
Don't think so. Darkane isn't exactly a social butterfly per say, he'd probably find Wilson a bit to agitating for his liking and he'd end up putting a cigarette in his eye after he kicked his ass.
After your monster tenure as Hardcore Champ, any World Titles you want to aim for?
Well ideally, if I win at Culture Crisis, then the Answers World Championship is number one on my list.
Who from a different roster than Dynasty would you want to build a long term feud with?
Good question and the person that immediately comes to mind is Rex McAllister, I just feel like there is some unfinished business between us, as we did fight for the National Elite Championship last year but that's the only time I faced him and I would love to face him again.
I might be biased but my favorite author - Pierce Brown. His ability to make characters distinctive and stand out on their own really sets him apart. Another author I could see is Stephen King as some sort of evil and dark mastermind, his descriptions are out of this world good. I could imagine him doing scene promos to perfection.
How would you say your PFP match with Scott was? Uberlesnar vs the devil Incarnate dynamic was pretty cool.
Yeah it was incredible. Such a brutal/ high-intensity match overall. The amount of dental work that had to be done to Darkane cost a pretty penny and that was just for repairs, he didn't bother with implants. He tried the old George Washington method by sticking a couple of stray wood chips as replacement front teeth but that didn't work out too well, so he said fuck it.
Any inspiration for coming up with #DarkaneTimes? Was it one of those spur of the moment things?
Wasn't my idea truth be told. I just went with it. I'm not really sure who came up with it, maybe Banks or Mr. DEDEDE.
You said last time Darkane battles to sleep in a dumpster- What's he doing nowadays with that multimillion World champ money?
He still sleeps in dumpsters for it's all he knows, it's where he feels the most comfortable, so nothing has changed there. Believe it or not he's actually been making even more money because he started growing his own weed which to his credit has garnered a lot of popularity from local potheads. As for his World Championship money, he's saving it for a rainy day.
What do you see next for Darkane after a world championship run?
Your guess is as good as mine, maybe he'll go back to doing some more extreme matches with any willing combatants. He'll find something to do, don't worry.
