BACKGROUND
Malcolm grew up in Harlem, New York as a standout athlete who quickly made a name for himself in high school as a tri-athlete in basketball, football, and wrestling. He had several offers in all three sports but decided on basketball after earning a D1 scholarship to UConn. Shortly after, he would find himself in trouble thus losing his eligibility and scholarship. Reverting back to the streets he worked so hard to escape as a last resort, he would find himself back on a dark path. He eventually turned to wrestling as a new outlet doing local shows in NY and CT where he then found himself on the radar of Mr. DEDEDE who mentored him and offered him a break into the business. He entered EAW as a part of The Gawd Complex before breaking out and joining a rising company called REVOLT! Pro Combat. The company would get purchased by EAW months down the line marking his return to EAW where he quickly rose up the ranks into an instant star.
The way Malcolm carries himself is a result of everything he learned in Harlem growing up. He applies that to the ring as well and it has proven him to be a successful strategy, but not enough to get him to where he needs to be so now the gloves are off. Malcolms motives change as his career continues to evolve and his status in the company becomes more solidified. He was once driven and motivated by materialistic possessions and the idea of being as rich as he possibly can. He achieved that tenfold. His shortcomings then provided a new spark in him and a new sense of motivation where he worked hard to continue to improve and succeed in the face of the naysayers and critics who once doubted him and made him to be the butt of their jokes. He then realized that making people eat their words wasn't even enough to satisfy him.
Having achieved all that you can achieve so far in ones career given the amount of time he's been employed by EAW, the question is now what else could possibly push him? The answer is more success. More life. More money. More power. More respect. Malcolm is aware that the industry is an ever changing one where you can be on top one day and an afterthought the next and wants to make sure that he doesn't end up another flash in the pan fly by night success, but rather a constant in this company. He wants to protect his spot and take on any and everybody who people rate as the top elitists. He doesn't do it for the sake of competition, he does it for the sake of asserting his dominance.
