“Voices”
“The voices in my head, I can hear them! I can hear them telling me to cleanse the unwashed cesspool known as EAW. I can hear them loud and clear, their telling me that EAW needs a savior! Am I that savior? Can I save a whole company from damnation? Can I be the light that shines upon the brokenness and wickedness that EAW has brought forth? It can't be me. I am not that guy. I have sinned, I am a sinner!”
The scene opens to Desmond knees to his chest sitting in a corner of a broken down room. He is no longer the cheerful man everyone knows and loves. No! He is now, just a shell of the man he once was. His complexion once bright, now darkened. His smile gone to never return. His laugh.. his laugh is now sadistic. Desmond once a man of honor, now stood for nothing. Desmond had the world at his fingertips, but it all blew away as a leaf flies in the summer breeze. Desmond stands from the corner, and begins to peer out of a window that had tin foil on it.
“Can I do what he is asking me? Am I strong enough? Does this mean I am a follower instead of the leader I've always been?”
Desmond looks up to the heavens and screams.
“Why have you forsaken me? Why must I live a torturous live? I've tried ending it all, but you have always intervened. What is your plan for me? Why won't you answer me damn it!”
All these questions plagued Desmond. They've been plaguing him for months. As Desmond began to speak again, he is interrupted by a booming voice
Voice: I have not forsaken you, my child. I have been with you all along. I have watched from the sidelines, while you drank, drugged, and battered your body. I can sense what's in your heart, and I can sense that you are strong enough, and willing to do what I ask. But my question is, why do you blame me for everything that has happened to you? You had the choices, you chose to smoke that smoke. You chose to drink that alcohol. You chose to drag your body through the ringer, while I was in the back of your mind telling you the right paths to go down. But you ignored everything I said, and done the complete opposite.
Tears feel Desmond's eyes as the voice spoke.
“You are a liar, you have done nothing but been deceitful. I use to live by your code, yet you took the only thing that matter to me away. You.. YOU, took my family away. That's what lead me to the drugs and alcohol. At only 13 you left me with no one. Not a single soul, yet you act like you care? You don't care for anything other than your chosen few.. if it's a sheep you want, you are looking in the wrong place. I do not follow any man or woman who follows a book of lies and hypocrites. I do not follow false prophets, and false doctrines! I am no longer shackled to the lies. I have found a new sense of direction. I have found a new reason to live. You want EAW to be cleansed.. you have come to the wrong person. I do not save any more. I now cause destruction.”
Desmond was still looking at the heavens as if the voice came from there. But in reality the voice was only in the mind of Desmond. The voice was that of his hypocrite father. The man who took everything away from Desmond, but life itself.
“Once Upon a Time!”
The scene opens to an old fashioned style recording. The video has faded to a brownish tan, with lines going up and down on the screen. The video continues playing, as an elderly voice can be heard.
Old Woman:
“Child repent of your sins! Repent or you'll live an eternity in damnation. Repent so you can live forever in the heavens! Keep the prayers my child!”
The young Desmond, who appears to be maybe 7 or 8, bends down to his knees and folds his hands together as he quietly says the repentance prayer.
Elderly Voice:
“Child, you are supposed to pray out loud!”
Desmond tilts his head towards his grandmother with a questioning gaze
Desmond
“Why, can't I pray to myself? Why can't God and I have a secret conversation?”
Desmond always asked his grandmother these times of questions. Quite honestly, Desmond felt closer to his grandparents then he did his own parents.
Grandmother Black
“Child, you can, but the repentance prayer is supposed to have a special meaning. Meaning you want everyone to know of your closeness with God. Otherwise, how can you be an example?”
For some odd reason this made sense to Desmond. As the video went on, Desmond spoke his prayer out loud and his grandma began smiling.
The video is now at Desmond's 13th birthday. Just like any other teen, Desmond makes a great deal out of his first year as a teen. At this party was roughly 50-60 people. All either friends or family of Desmond. The video shows a smile on the now cold-blooded heartless kid. The smile was genuine. The laughter filled the air, all the way until the party ended.
The time is now roughly 9:30 pm, inside the Black's house, Desmond is usually asleep by this time but a loud thud followed by a gunshot kept Desmond awake. It is now 10 pm and Desmond finally ventures out of his room, and into his parents. The smile that had previously been on Desmond's face has now turned to tears, as he rushes to his parents bed. His mother laid there lifeless and beside her, was his younger sister. His father stood no more than 10 feet away from his mother. As the tears pour down Desmond's face, he looks at his father.. his father, a man of the cloth.. a man who preached for a living had became a murderer.
Desmond:
“What have you done! You bastard!”
As these words rolled off of Desmond's tongue, his father turns the gun on himself and pulled the trigger. As the trigger was pulled a scream escaped the lips of Desmond. He ran to his father, and picked up the gun. His tears has now turned to hysterical crying. Desmond drops to his knees feeling helpless. He begins to look at the gun, as the police burst through the door. Desmond is removed from the room, kicking and screaming, by one of the officers.
“In one night, I lost everything. The only people I had ever truly loved, and my father took them from me. A man who was supposed to uphold the Bible, turned to being a murderer. Killing my mother, who was my best friend, and my little sister who I was extremely close to. Then like all cowards, he turned the gun on himself.”
Desmond looks at the camera with pure disgust.
Desmond
“My grandparents, who I was forced to live with, made my dad out to be some type of martyr while dogging my mother. It's kind of funny ya know, how far a parent will go to protect their child. My grandparents went as far as to say that I seen it all wrong. That my mother, who wouldn't hurt a flea, was the murderer. My mother, the definition of a Saint, would never hurt anyone let alone kill my sister, my father, and herself.”
Desmond looks down at the floor beneath him as a small sadistic smile forms on his face
Desmond
“Marty, I hope you get everything that you deserve!”
Marty of course being Desmond's father.
The scene begins to break away, with Desmond still looking down at the floor with a sadistic smile on his face.
~present day~
The time is now 9:30 am, and just like every other morning Desmond begins with a bottle of Scotch. Pouring shot at shot for himself.
His phone begins to go off, as he looks at it it is from the EAW website, announcing Desmond's debut in EAW. His debut being against none other then three of showdowns best. SOSA Henderson, Archimedes, and Kevin Hawkins!" A smile forms across the lips of the 23 year old Desmond.
“i know I may be the new guy, but it seems that management wants to test my ability. They want me to prove myself, against three of the toughest opponents that EAW has to offer. You know what, that's fine. I'll do what I do, and win. I can promise you EAW has never seen a monster like me.”
~The Devil's trials~
The scene opens to a juvenile deliquescent center, as a 14 year old Desmond is seen being helped out the back of a police car. As Desmond walks closer to the building, it was obvious. His eyes are glossed over from his last binge. He had dried blood on his face, due to him having murdered a man in cold blood, for no other reason than Desmond wanted to.
As Desmond enters the building, all gasp at his appearance. Not only did he have dried blood on his face, but it appeared as if he had bathed in the man's blood. A sadistic smile forms on the face of Desmond as he knows everyone now fears him, including the police officer that escorted him inside the juvenile center.
Police Officer:
He.. he's all yours, Joe!
Joe, who was a correction officer for the juvenile center, eyes widened and he began to lead Desmond to the containment cell
Joe
"What did a sweet boy like yourself do to end up in here?"
Joe who had known Desmond his entire life, being a head Deacon for Desmond's father's church, could tell just by looking at Desmond and tell that this was not the Desmond he once knew. This was a new and evil Desmond.
Desmond who was a pale skin normal height teen just stands there looking at Joe, before he began to speak.
Desmond:
I murdered a man. I choked the man until I saw his eyes bulge from his head, and then blood spewed from his mouth. I then took a lead pipe, and bashed the dead man's head in, and bathed in his blood.
Desmond's words sent chills down the spine of Joe, as the once full of life child, now spoke as a career killer. His words were cold and absence of emotion.
Joe:
Why in the fuck would you do something like that, Desmond? Your father wouldn't be happy with you, you know?
Desmond's once emotionless face, now showed plenty of emontions. Anger, hurt, hatred was just a few that was easily recognized
Desmond:
Why would I care what that piece of shit, thought about me? He took everything from me!! My mom, my sister, my FUCKING life! He made me this monster. He caused all of this, and believe me Joe, there is plenty more to come.
Joe opened the containment cell for Desmond, as Desmond walked inside the cell, Joe removed the handcuffs and slammed the door behind him.
Joe:
Your father loved you, and you know that. He had a lot of well hidden demons. Even his parents, your grandparents, was blinded to the man he was.
Desmond chuckles as he wrapped his hands around the cold, steel bars. His eyes showed the once well loved Desmond was no more. He is now, a cold hearted, ruthless, angry child. Who without proper guidance, would be a very, VERY dangerous man in the near future.
Desmond happened to be arrested on a Friday, so he had to wait until the following week to be seen by the judge.
~Monday Morning~
Desmond sat in his cell, a cell that at one time held one other juvenile, but he begged to be sent to a different cell. Desmond sat on the edge of his bed, laughing as he heard the guards arguing as to who was going to lead Desmond to the Juvenile Court House. As the guards opened the cell, so Desmond could step out, they pulled out their tazzers. As Desmond exited the cell, he jumps at the guard holding the cell door open, which caused the officers to shoot Dez with the trazzers. As the tazzer barbs entered Dez's flesh; he let's out a sadistic laugh, that sent shivers down the spine of the officer's. But what came next scared the officers even more, instead of falling to his knees Desmond just pulls the tazzers out of his skin, one at a time.
Joe who had just clocked in, walks over and watched in shock as he has never seen anyone be able to take four simotaneous shots, and laugh about them.
After the shock wears off, Joe leads Desmond to the Court room, and even followed him inside.
Bailiff:
All rise for the honorable Judge Winston Wilson!
As the judge entered and sat down, he let everyone sit down.
Judge Winston:
Mr. Black, how do you plea?
Desmond stands fixing his shirt, and speaks as clear as possible.
Desmond:
Guilty. I plea guilty, your honor.
Desmond's lawyer looks at Desmond in shock
Dez's Lawyer:
Your honor, my I have a moment to speak with my client?
The judge rolls his eyes, but let's the lawyer speak with Desmond, but to no avail. The lawyer done all the talking, although, it went in one ear and out the other.
Judge Winston:
Son, have you changed your plea?
Desmond once again stands up, and begins to fix his shirt
Desmond:
No, I haven't. I killed the man, and I bathed in his blood.
A shocking gasp fills the courtroom as Desmond sits back.
The arraignment lasted 2 hours, and Desmond was found guilty of first degree man slaughter. But instead of being sent back to the Juvenile Delinquent Center or even prison, Desmond was sent to four years to a mental state hospital, where he would be further examined. After the fours years are up, then and only then, could Desmond ask for an appeal.
Desmond served his 4 years, at the state mental hospital where he was abused with electro shock therapy, and beatings by the so called mental health care providers. This only fueled the evil that was building up inside of Desmond.
As Desmond's four years came to an end, he had his lawyer ask for an appeal, which was heavily considered to be denied but Judge Winston approved it anyways.
As Desmond, entered the courtroom for the first time in four years his demeanor changed. He was now, well behaved, well mannered, and well dressed. As the judge entered the courtroom, he took notice to how much a difference was in Desmond, and a smile formed on Desmond's face.
Judge Winston:
Mr. Black how do you plea?
Desmond stands up with an air of confidence about himself
Desmond:
Your honor, I still plead guilty, but I have changed. I have seen the errors of my ways.
After another two hours of court, Desmond was cleared of all charges. Even having the murder rap, expunged from his permanent record.
The now 18 year old, Desmond moved back to his grandparents place, who had died of natural causes. He found work, working a farm on the outside of Birmingham England during the day, and training to become a professional wrestler at night.
Although the well mannerisms, was a facade, Desmond kept away from trouble even with the evil inside of him slowly corrupting him.
Desmond looks up to the heavens and screams.
