Imagine sitting there and taking pride in the fact that your partner who has consistently proven that she can barely place one foot in front of the other when she’s forced to stand on her own looks at the two of you as equals. There’s a difference between being depressed and looking at reality for what it is. I’m not going to waste my time pretending that this is something more than it is. This doesn’t light a fire. This isn’t exciting. This isn’t something that’s going to push these championships into a brighter light. It’s simply two women that wholeheartedly believe that they’re up to a task that they’re clearly not. Candice Blair and Danny Tanner had the same belief that you do. Kensi and Lisa Wren held that same belief. They told themselves that they were going to knock us off of the tag team division. They told themselves that they were good enough to beat both Harlow and I. Why should Harlow and I look at the two of you as a threat? Dominance means nothing when you falter the moment that you need to succeed the most. What do you do when the two of you ultimately fail at House of Glass? Do you try to take another step forward after being forced to take three steps back? Do you convince yourself that you’re still walking down this already forged path? I’ve listened to it. I’ve seen it. People just like you; those who say the same things that they did. People who tell themselves that they’re destined to achieve everything that they dream of accomplishing. They’ll do everything in their power to set the entire world on fire; add names to their resume that’s meant to create this idea that they’re actually a whole lot more talented than they really are - but, crumble the moment that they’re forced to stumble. They try to push themselves up. They convince themselves that they hold the answers needed; they believe that they see the road that they’re travelling. But, they continue to lose pieces of themselves every time that they’re forced to fall in front of the same world that they told themselves they were going to conquer. That’s the reason that this is meant to be so important. In your eyes - I’m meant to believe that this match is really more than it is. This is your moment. This is meant to be the moment where you prove that you are somewhat close to being what you were meant to be. But, the fact that I’m downplaying the importance of these championships lessens that. I’m one half the Unified Tag Team Champions. I should be standing here doing everything in my power to try to create this idea that these championships are more than they really are. I’m meant to create the idea that there’s a pride in this division that it hasn’t had for years. But, I’m not going to pretend, Ximena. I’m always going to look at these championships in the same light that the rest of the world sees them.
If this company retired these championships - how many people would really care?
How many people would stand there and stand against it? How many people would stand in front of the world and say that this company needs these championships. Both Harlow and I can talk about wanting competition. I’d love to look across at the people that are challenging for these championships and know that we’re undoubtedly the biggest match on the card; something that the rest of the world couldn’t possibly afford to miss, but that’s really not the case. There’s nothing about the two of you that makes this match stand out. You have a former EAW World Champion and the best technical wrestler on this entire roster competing against a woman that couldn’t leap over that last hurdle when she needed to the most and a woman that struggles to stand on her own two feet. Is that really meant to be a match that excites me? Are the two of you really the team that Harlow and I are meant to look towards and see as the competition that these championships deserve to have in order to elevate them onto a level that they haven’t had the chance to stand on? In your eyes - definitely. We’re meant to take the two of you seriously. As we were told to do the same against the two other teams that challenged us. But, what happened to them, Ximena. We walked in with the same attitude as we have now, and the result was no different to what’s going to happen at House of Glass. We’re going to walk into House of Glass with these championships and we’re going to walk back out the same way. It’s not destiny. It’s not a road that has already been forged that you’re now walking down. You’re the next two names that are meant to satisfy the two of us as we beg for the competition that we want. You’re the next two names that are meant to create this idea that this division is really more than it is. I’ll take the two of you seriously the moment that the two of you are still standing before us after you fail, instead of setting your sights on the next fabled achievement that you’re destined to accomplish. You’re nothing more than what these championships have been forced to attempt to endure for years. Two individual names that have come together in order to attempt to achieve something less than they originally had their sights set towards. But, that isn’t going to happen. Harlow and I are going to move onto the next combination. I told you that this is nothing more than the same constant circle. IDOL-GUN had to face the same thing, as did the team before them. You’re not special. You’re not destined to beat us. You’re simply here to fill a role that’s meant to make Harlow and I happy. Another successful championship defence. I hope that you enjoy the chance to compete at House of Glass, but I wouldn’t set your expectations of walking out satisfied with the result.
