The scene opens up to a man walking down a desert path as he is wearing a white designer suit and a black mask. As the man gets closer to the camera, the man lets out a slight chuckle and begins to speak.

Roberto: It’s a new season, and new opportunities have arisen for all the Elitist in EAW. The draft may have switched up the rosters a bit, but one constant that remained here on Showdown is Roberto De La Rosa! So when the opportunity to face off against Donovan Duke for his EAW National Elite Championship arose, I knew that even with the new season and changes upon us, I still had la oportunidad, the opportunity to rise to greatness! I proved to all the doubters at Pain For Pride XV that I was going to prove to them all that I deserved to be there, and while I didn’t make it past the final five, I did do one thing; made my name known! I showed the world that Roberto De La Rosa has only just begun his rise to the top, and while I may have had some bumps along the road… the road is still intact! Many people will already have their bets made that the veteran in Jon Kelton will walk out as the clear winner, or that maybe even the man who’s had a luckier hand here in EAW than me, Jay Jerry Johnson has a better chance at walking out the winner come Saturday. Now hold that may be a surface level bet, solely looking at the competitors in this match, if one would look closer, it’s not as simple as that! Jay Jerry Johnson is a man that may have beaten me in the past before, and has had a better string of luck than me, but the thing is… if one would look deeper into who we both were facing off, well one would see he had easier competition than me. I was facing off against men like Adam Lucas, Limmy Monaghan, and even our current EAW Answers World Champion, Impact! While you? Well you faced names that came and went in a span of a second. Sure you faced a couple of big names like Kelton, Donovan Duke, and Chris Elite; but compared to me? You had a decently tamed path of competitors. I on the other hand? It was nonstop competition left and right for me, and unlike you, I remained loyal to this very brand! Now I know that was out of your control Triple J, pero betraying Voltage to join the Showdown and Dynasty team in Territorial Invasion’s conquer and divide match WAS your choice. Lealtad, loyalty comes a long way with building your brand and reputation mi amigo, and while you try to paint me as nothing but a stepping stone in this “epic” between you and Jon Kelton… face the truth mano; you and I aren’t that different as you’d imagine.

As Roberto says this, he grabs his golden cross around his neck and lets out a slight scoff.

Roberto: You want to make these people think that finally, in THIS very match mi amigo you will finally be able to beat the same Jon Kelton who has humiliated you back and forth back when you were part of Voltage. Truth is mi amigo, this Saturday just won’t be that day. This “something” that will happen that many won’t expect from you is nothing but a lie to save face, pero we all know that the truth is everyone WILL expect the result on Showdown: Jay Jerry Johnson laid on his back after taking another massive L to his record. You can hate this failures of yours all you want, but that won’t change anything… in order for change to occur once must accept their past failures and GROW from them! That’s what I have done and while my record last season wasn’t salvageable, this season? Oh, it will start off with a bang when I do the unthinkable and win the opportunity to face off against Donovan Duke… is what I would say if I dealt with fantasies. I deal with absolutes, and this match is still very much undecided; but the way I see it mi amigo, you already made the biggest mistake one can make in a triple threat match! You are only focusing on ONE of the TWO men inside that ring. I know, I know, you have this obsession to prove that you’re not below Jon Kelton… pero mi amigo, the more you say it the more it goes from a bold statement to more of a whine. You sound like a child trying to prove to their parents that they’re old enough for more freedom; I mean c’mon compadre, are we gladiators or are we school children trying to get our own way? I mean you went on to say that Jon Kelton, a man who has beaten you not once, but TWICE isn’t a bigger name than you? Open your eyes, Triple J, you’re speaking to a former champion while you? You were lucky enough to make it to the Cash In The Vault match at Pain For Pride XV! I am not sure you, yourself know how you truly feel about him. I mean one minute you’re on the same level, the next you say the man is better than you? Eres un hombre chistoso, you’re a funny man, Jerry. Though it’s ironic really… you try to say I am what I assume you meant to say irrelevant and unimportant?

Roberto lets out a laugh as he looks at the camera again.

Roberto: Look in a mirror compadre, what you think I am, is what Jon Kelton thinks of you! Sure, you beat me in your first match here, but true men change and don’t remain the same. The same man you beat in your debut? Is the same man I buried months ago. That same man cares about victories and losses, but now? I only care about doing my job, and that’s making sure I deliver as much pain and suffering no matter if I win or lose. I am an artist, and my art is more important than this silly obsession with big wins and losses. People like that tend to live a sad and miserable lives, that let a slight bump on the road destroy them because of their inflated egos. My biggest victory may have been again Abel Atami, pero look at the things I have done outside of just the simple stuff like wins and losses. I faced off against former and future world champions, I have faced Hall of Famers, and I have made my name known without having to brag about it! It’s funny. You’re trying to make this narrative about me like I am a prideful man who likes to brag about beating Abel Atami… when the truth is I hardly speak on that match because I am tired. I am tired of being put in the same spotlight as a man like him! You want to talk about how easy it is to beat him? Go ahead, you do it as the man uses your most beloved to distract you and get the upper hand! Go ahead and fight in the flames the devil himself made and walk out not only victorious but an ovation like I did at Dia Del Diablo! Hell, why don’t you actually take Ronan Malosi to his limit like I did not once, not twice, but three times! Saying there’s been no changes but a new face…

Roberto chuckles, as he begins to remove the black mask off his head. As he removes it, long black hair is revealed as fixes it while staring at the camera. As his hair is fix, he spits on the floor and smirks.

Roberto: Patético. To say I can’t reach your level? Mi amigo, I have already surpassed you seeing you’re still living in the past talking about the ONE match you and I had. You want to mock my win against Abel Atami? Your biggest win is beating the longest tenured bottom feeder, Lucas Johnson! I can’t reach you? Hilarious. Speaking on me just alone helps all of EAW remember that you’re the same man who somehow qualified to Cash In The Vault and actually thought he was on the same level as everybody there! You were just a charity case, and even with that much talent in that much, none of it was rubbed off on you and everyone can tell. You’re nothing special. I may be a comedian and entertaining to you, but to me mi amigo? You’re just another victim. Another body on my self made path to greatness!

Roberto begins to walk forwards as the camera follows him. Nothing but a sandy desert in the summer heat is seen for miles as Roberto continues to walk. After a while, a prickly pear plant is seen as Roberto looks at the plant smirks.

Roberto: Those type of paths however require a bit of humbleness, and a man who I can say is humble is none other than Jon Kelton. He knows his losses, he knows his mistakes, and instead of trying to wash them away like Triple J… he reminds himself of them each and everyday to improve. That is how he was able to become the third longest reigning EAW New Breed Champion in history! It’s a shame that only one of us can actually face off against Donovan Duke for his championship, and I for one think you deserve that opportunity Jon Kelton, I really do… but at the end of the day I was given the same opportunity as you and I won’t just allow myself to be anyones stepping stone. EAW is in a new season, and you had a decent run last season, but I think it’s time for a new face in the championship scene. That face of course being mine, a man who has been working his ass off to prove that he belongs here in EAW and that he is more than just the man that makes the stars look like a million bucks, but that he too is a star as well! I know you’re tired of being second best, and that this championship has alluded you for oh so long, and I feel you amigo. I truly do, but like Triple J said all three of us are on the same boat. He may have meant it a different way, but we sure are on a sinking boat and the only way this boat is going to stay afloat is by having one man standing on it as the other two? Sink. Jerry has already chosen to hop into the water without a life jacket, but you Kelton, you’re smarter. You’re willing to fight us both for the spot on the boat and aren’t afraid to drag us down into the depth of the ocean. I am the very same way, and by that fact alone I know this will be a hell of a fight to remain as the one lucky person who can stay afloat in the rough waters known as EAW! The question now is which one of us will be the man good enough to stay afloat, as the other two drown and get lost in the shuffle of the stacked roster we have here on Showdown? I for one won’t allow myself to drown, because as the one true constant here on Showdown, I am here to make this brand and mi gente, my people down in Mexico proud! Just like my ancestors when they discovered the greatness of Tenochtitlan, Mexico by finding el nopal, the prickly pear plant with the eagle on it eating the snake… I will find my own greatness on Showdown, and that iconic prickly pear plant scene is this match right here and I will make sure I take it with all my force and don’t let it go until I can proudly call myself your NEXT EAW National Elite Champion! Now that may not be an absolute, but I am damn sure willing to make it so by any means necessary!

As Roberto says this, an eagle lands on the prickly pear plant with a snake on one of his talon as Roberto continues to walk as the screen fades to black and the De La Rosa logo bleeds in. The screen then fades to black once again.
