BEN JONES
So Carmen got a win at Bloodsport, whoopty doo! I am tired of fans of Carmen Sánchez hyping her up like she is some goddess sent from above. Oh, she defended Cynthia Valice and beat up her bullies; oh, grow up! This is wrestling, not some episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse that ends with everyone holding hands and dancing Kumbaya. This sport is supposed to be physical; it’s supposed to be violent. It is supposed to be filled with the toughest men and women who can survive! Yet we encourage people like Carmen and Cynthia to go out there and make this business softer! I don’t want my wrestlers to be nice; I don’t want my wrestlers to be gentle. I want them to be rough and tough, like they were back in my day! Carmen is ruining this business, and if she manages to win the Hardcore Championship — I will retire from watching wrestling.
CARMEN
…Dios mío.
…Dios mío.
What a match! I mean, I was confident that Cynthia and I would kick Cosmo and Diamond’s butt! However, being on a platform like that really puts your heart in your ass. But the great thing is that they fell and we didn’t, and we won the match! After what happened with Saori and Auburn, I needed to know that I could make a difference. That I could help someone in need, and it’s great that I was able to do that with Cynthia and teach those pendejos a lesson in real respect!
And can we talk about Cynthia for a second?
That girl fights with more heart than anyone I’ve ever stepped in a ring with. Every time things got hairy up there, every time it felt like the ground was gonna give out from under us, I’d look over, and she’s got this fire in her eyes as none of it scares her, like she was born for moments like this. That energy is really contagious, dude. It reminded me why we do this. She didn’t hesitate once, not even once, in that match. When you’ve got somebody like that beside you, somebody who brings that much light into a dark and scary situation, you stop feeling the horror and feel nothing but the joy of fighting along with someone who loves this just as much as you do. So I want to say, thank you; you are making Voltage a better place.
Voltage might seem scary to some, and I mean it can be scary by the looks of the Marquee Event we had. But it isn’t without hope, which is what people want you to think. That there is no way you can make things better or change the culture. But me, Cynthia, and many others are proof that you can make a difference. That when injustice shows up thinking it’s going to run the show, you don’t back down. You link arms with the people who believe the same things you do, and you make it regret ever showing its face in the first place.
That’s the thing nobody tells you about standing up to bullies like Cosmo and Diamond: you are never supposed to do it alone.
Every pendejo out there is banking on fear, on scarcity, on making people believe they’re powerless; they’re counting on us staying isolated. They’re counting on us thinking it’s too big, too dangerous, too much for just one person. But it was never just one person. It’s everyone who’s ever looked at something wrong and decided to do something about it, and that’s a lot more people than you think.
You are not helpless, and you certainly aren’t alone. Not while people like me are still willing to stand shoulder to shoulder with you and help you through the fire. That’s what real respect looks like. And that’s what I am going to keep giving this business, one match at a time.
But it seems like Voltage management doesn’t like a happy ending, or this is our way of rewarding us for a job well done. Because I have a Hardcore Championship match against Cynthia. I have competed against Cynthia at the beginning of the season, funnily enough, in a Triple Threat match, so I know exactly what to expect. I won’t harp too much on her because, in the end, I respect the work she put in. I will go out there and give it my all, and I know Cynthia will go out and give it her all. That is how this business is, and I wouldn’t expect anything but the best. But as for Kai Rabeaux…
You’re a different case, I don’t think I like you very much. Let's talk about you for a second, mijo, because I’ve been biting my tongue long enough.
I’ve watched you strut around like this business owes you something. Like the rest of us are just background characters in the Kai Rabeaux story. I talk a lot about culture, about respect, and I can tell you don’t even know the meaning of those words. You’ve built your whole career on making other people small so you can feel bigger than you are. No different from everyone else around here, you’re sick in the head, and it might just be because of that ugly ass buzzcut you got.
I’ve seen the way you operate, the way you play the victim one week and the puppet master the next, whatever keeps you on top, whatever keeps the cameras on you.
You’re Egotistical.
You’re Narcissistic.
You’re Maniacal.
You’re Narcissistic.
You’re Maniacal.
You’re a puto who thinks the rules are for everybody else but himself. A man who thinks his “silver tongue” is enough to excuse his cruelty. You don’t belong in a ring where people fight with honor. To be honest, mijo? A man like you belongs behind bars.
I am sick of watching men and women like you get rewarded for being ugly on the inside and out. You can manipulate everyone in the room, Kai. But I see you for the man you are. A small, cowardice man and one of these days, someone in that ring is going to make you answer for it. And hopefully, that someone is me.
See you on Voltage, and keep that Championship shining for me.
