"So... uh..."
The night had not been kind to Envy Ellis. She did come out of the gates with an aggressive showing in her tag team contest against Kensi and Lisa Wren, but in the end it was an untimely mistake that was capitalized upon that left Envy flat on her back counting the lights. It was a bitter pill to swallow, as defeat tends to be. Envy was sure that she was better than her opponents and that this night would showcase that. Alas it was not meant to be, and later on Envy found herself in the back angrily pulling the wrist tape off of her arms. Tossing it aside with an indelible oomph, she sits back on the bench, looking to the camera with a half-hearted smile forming on her face.
"That didn't go exactly as I had planned. I had grand designs for my debut on EAW Dynasty... hell, even beyond "grand designed", I was hoping for a win... and yet, I found myself on the receiving end of the loss... pinned to the mat by someone who I know... I KNOW... I'm better than! Call that delusional... call it what you want. In the end, in my heart of hearts, I know the better wrestler did not win the night because I am the better wrestler. So you could say I'm a little bit sour. You could say I'm pissed off. Yeah... fine. Whatever. But you know what about last Dynasty?"
Envy tosses the last of her wrist-tape aside, sitting forward with a partial smirk on her face.
"I'm not going to let that match define me! True, I lost. I ended up on my back counting the lights in a match I feel I should have won. But when the story of Envy Ellis is written, all that night will end up being is a mere blip in the radar... a footnote that only the most diehard of diehards remember. Right now, I call it a night to forget and history will prove me right. I am committed to climbing the ladder to the top of EAW. I know there will be setbacks. I know not everything is going to go my way. I know there are growing pains here, just like there are anywhere else I could have gone. It goes with the territory. But I will come back, and I will come back stronger… I will come back better than ever. And that is very bad news for Anthony Valencia.”
Envy snickers at the sound of her next opponent’s name.
“You know, I heard it all before. The whole “women shouldn’t face men” argument.. I had thought we had busted down that door a decade ago, but evidently as long as we exist, there’ll be men like Anthony Valencia who seem to take issue with that fact. And you know what? So be it… as long as people like Anthony decide the best way to rile up their opponents is through cheap insults, people like me will be around to knock their teeth out of their mouths. So Anthony… you know what? Can I call you “Tony”? Fuck it… I’m going to call you Tony. So Tony, talk your shit. Run your mouth about what you want to do to me… do something. Just don’t be surprised when what you do ends up backfiring and you are the one who ends up counting the lights. Because I’m not going away… I’m climbing the proverbial ladder. I’m heading to the road of success… and yeah, there may be speedbumps on that road, but that’s not going to stop me. And at Dynasty… I’m liable to just run you over.”
With that, Envy pushes the camera away and the scene fades to black...
