Gimmick: Biracial Japanese-American young woman, the sister of a two-time EAW Interwire Champion, looking to make a risky return to wrestling after a failed indie run that felt like a bad omen for the painful events that had already happened in her personal life. Anna Wautier is someone who could be described as a model citizen. Through her studies of societal fairness and justice, she has learned about the good and bad in people, and she believes that everyone should be treated fairly in cases where that isn’t happening. Woman of formal speech and strict discipline wanted to mold herself into the extreme environment and become what she once failed to achieve, EAW will be the proving ground where she earns the right to display her true value.
Backstory: During her college years, she worked as a ring announcer for a small indie promotion and was eventually fully trained by her brother to become a professional wrestler, inspired by his path and driven by a desire to honor her family’s legacy just as he had… but that decision would turn out to be the greatest mistake of her life. Wrestling wasn’t all rainbows and sunshine as she had imagined. She was constantly underestimated and crumbled under pressure, which led many to question whether she even belonged in the industry, and for that, the mounting anxiety attacks slowly eroded her momentum and made it impossible for her to fully embrace the sport. In the unfortunate end, she retired at a young age to leave behind everything about wrestling that terrified her, to focus on rebuilding her personal life. She went on to attend law school, which reshaped her mindset, matured her outlook, and gave her a renewed sense of purpose. Her brother reached out multiple times to reconnect, but she always seemed unavailable. Sometimes too busy. Sometimes too distant.... but who would’ve guessed that all along, she was quietly working hard to fight through anxiety to reclaim this moment and prove everyone wrong.
Inspiration(s):
Maka Albarn (Soul Eater) - A combination of courage and mental strength that allows her to face pain, any burden from the past, and hardship over a long time, along with her ability to understand, control, and manage her feelings no matter what happens. Being steady, predictable, and always keeps her head clear in hard moments. Having self-assurance by believing herself to be secure in who she is, without showing off or acting superior, and just making them watch.
Captain Mina Ashiro (Kaiju No. 8) - Anna isn’t the type to hide behind a desk. She’s willing to take the biggest risks and is always at the front. She has the willingness to dive into the chaos, to risk it all and lead people by example. She has a spark that speaks courage and faith into others, sometimes even helping them overcome their own fear and self-doubt, just like it did to her.
Astoria Caster (Fate Grand/Order) - Behind the bravado is an agitated depression, weighed down by her past with the sport, but she always wears her heart on her sleeve about it to strengthen her honesty and leverage it as her own advantage against other people trying to exploit her background and emotions.
El Hijo Del Dr. Wagner Jr. - A conscientious face who honors and respects the culture, treating every aspect of the martial art with an immense amount of respect. Someone who can look at every difference as an equal measure of a professional wrestler when they're in the ring, believing that the culture only cares about what people have to give back to the sport, and leaves it all in the ring.

MOTIVATIONS
Character’s motivations for competing: Redemption no more as the renaissance chapter of the New Hope to keep the previous continuity intact. After a journey of countless attempts to prove that she belongs in a professional wrestling ring, enduring so much chronic suffering along the way, Anna Wautier is finally able to put that doubt to rest, knowing that she stands at the top of her division. The next thing is to represent the belt itself is to show what it means to be a new breed and to carry the sign of positive change, improvement, and optimism that is inherently ingrained in the New Generation DNA. That is what keeps Anna motivated by understanding her portion, the importance of this belt, the journey she has been through, and making her time worthwhile and remarkable as a fighting champion. In doing so, the lost meaning and prestige that once accompanied this belt, tainted by Clayton’s personal mission, can now be restored through her influence.

Wrestling Style: Striker and Technician. Specializing in body manipulation, particularly targeting areas like the limbs to exploit weaknesses in her opponents, and also capable of hard-hitting. Possessing some aerobatic ability as well.
Combat Identity: Wautier is self-trained before her entrance into EAW, but that’s only because she had already received expert training from Jay Jerry Johnson, and with a foundational understanding of what to do, she has since been honing her craft and refining her technique to rediscover her rightful place in the ring. Thanks to past training sessions with her brother, Anna is also permitted to use JJJ’s signature moves and finishers, though they aren’t as powerful, given that she’s still physically weaker than her brother.

NOTES
- Highly articulate and polite in her communication, which applies to both promos and segments but also means she rarely displays emotional struggles. Very mature too, she usually speaks like a grown woman and the only time she ever shows genuine emotion is when she is highly provoked, but even so, that is more likely to happen in the ring if her opponent tries to get under her skin.
- Wautier usually addresses people as “Mr.” or “Ms.” but if she's close with them, she'll just use their name. She also doesn’t necessarily dislike someone unless things start getting out of line and at that point, she’ll throw her filter away if there’s no chance of keeping things respectful.
- Anna isn't in a position to defend her brother blindly and is fully aware that he's imperfect but any inaccurate remarks made about JJJ will be promptly corrected by her while unnecessary insults will simply be dismissed without further acknowledgment.
