Taking enough lumps in this business, specifically this company, will do one of two things for an elitist. It’ll either break you down until you’re nothing but a shell of who you were when you walked through those doors… or it’ll forge you into something unrecognizable, something harder, sharper, and more dangerous than anyone ever expected. The difference between the two? How much you’re willing to bleed before you learn how to make others do the same. That's something that Minerva can't ingrain into the collective heads of Daniella Atlas and Selina Reyes. Daniella Atlas and Selina Reyes do not yet have that benefit as elitists who are still rising up through the ranks to know what's coming next. And believe me, they'll soon find out the hard way that not all that glitters is gold. This business doesn’t reward ambition alone. It also punishes naivety with interest. The moment you start thinking momentum will carry you, this place quickly reminds you that momentum can turn into inertia when you run smack into the wrong wall. The kind of walls we’ve broken through time and time again. And when they finally stand across from us, they’ll understand that survival here isn’t about talent, spotlight, or reputation. It's about execution and endurance. It's about walking through the ring of fire and learning to smile while everything around you burns. Once the smoke clears, though, they’ll realize we're not just another obstacle in their story that leads them to these titles we've held for seven long months. But we will be the chapter that ends it. With King of Elite just a little over a couple of weeks away and another title match on the horizon there's no chance of us looking past ToXXXin and throwing everything we've continued to work towards right down the tube by letting them slip in through the backdoor. It ain't happening on our watch. They may be a bit worked up and ready to mix it up with us after we left them lying on their backs this past Sunday, but that's just how it goes when you decide to stick your nose where it didn’t belong in the first place. Raven and I have been through our fair share of battles and wars inside of this season alone enough to know what it will take to defeat Daniella and Selina when the moment of truth finally arrives. The difference between us and them is simple. We've already walked the path they’re trying to pave. We’ve taken the hits, lost sleep, faced the vultures, and still came out holding gold when everyone swore we were slowing down. That’s the kind of pedigree you can’t fake, and it’s the kind of chemistry you can’t manufacture. They can talk about ambition and hunger all they want, but none of that means anything when you’re standing across from two people who stand as the measuring sticks in that department. When the lights hit and the bell rings, all that talk dissolves, and the only thing left is the truth, and the truth is, no one takes these belts without going through hell and back first. If they aren't prepared to do that, then they simply aren't ready to take our place at the top.

Now, as we move ahead to focus on our next match this coming Friday Night Dynasty, I personally find it very fitting that just as Fire & Ice just got done earning their place amongst the many award winners of this past year as the undisputed best tag team in all of EAW by burning right through the competition before putting them on ice we're now starting out 2026 facing two very combustible elements in Effy McAvoy and a man I've become more familiar over a period of years in David Gideon Smith. Effy’s the kind of loose particle this place loves to throw at us, all chaos and sudden impact, the wild swing in the bar fight that can catch you if you’re stupid enough to turn your head at the wrong time. She’s loud, emotional, unapologetic, a walking Molotov cocktail who would rather throw herself headfirst into the fire than stand back and calculate the cost, and that makes her dangerous in short bursts but predictable over the long haul. She feeds off noise, off adrenaline, off the rush of the moment, and when she feels like the crowd is behind her she starts to believe she’s untouchable, that a spark and a scream are all it takes to topple people who have lived in the blaze far longer than she’s even been near it. Then, on the other side, there’s David Gideon Smith, the exact opposite kind of problem. Where Effy is volatility, David is control, walking around like a self-appointed aristocrat of this industry, every move measured, every word chosen, every action built around ego and entitlement. He’s cold, clinical, methodical, the kind of man who would rather dissect you piece by piece than blow everything up at once, and he convinces himself that because he’s thought three steps ahead that the step in front of him can’t possibly trip him up. He carries himself like his name alone should bend the room around him, like his history with people like me guarantees him some kind of moral or competitive high ground that he hasn’t actually earned in this lane yet. Effy is most definitely looking to fight with everything she's got to get the victory this week in spite of DGS. I noticed that fight in her when I was front and center the first time around as part of the Dynasty Brand Warfare team at Territorial Invasion and then last month at Road To Redemption. And there are some by now who know that this Elitist has prior history from another place with DGS that came before EAW was ever synonymous with the name Rex McAllister. The kind of history that will always provide a certain type of motivation for this Elitist to approach a match against that man with a different kind of ice in his veins than he brings for everybody else. Not just as another opponent, not just as another name on a card, but as a reminder of every slight, every slight-of-hand, every condescending look and backhanded compliment that ever came with standing across from David Gideon Smith in any ring, in any company, under any banner. Nonetheless, he, along with Effy, is gonna find out why in EAW things are different.

I suppose David is as good a place to start as any. You've been doing everything you can to expedite your ascension up the ladder while you're here, which is admirable in a way. Getting the attention of elitists such as Limmy Monaghan and even an all-timer in Methuselah as you have, whether you won or lost has greatly raised your stock significantly because of what those names represent in Elite Answers Wrestling. You went from being another outsider trying to carve out space here to standing across from a man who practically built the foundation this place still stands on, and then turned around and threw yourself into the fire again with someone in Limmy who has made a career out of using other people’s momentum as a stepping stone to the next level. That says something about you, David. It says you’re willing to seek out the deep end, you’re willing to test yourself against the kind of opposition that either validates everything you think you are or exposes you in front of the entire world. But here’s where reality comes crashing down for you. For all that effort, for all that carefully curated image of the calculating, composed “rising star,” you still haven’t proven you can consistently break through that ceiling when it matters most. You stood in front of Methuselah and came up short. You stared down Limmy Monaghan with the same air of superiority you always carry, only to find out that the aura doesn’t fight the match for you. Which, again, has served you well. And now you’re stepping into the ring with the team that anchored Dynasty’s Brand Warfare victory, the team that helped establish this brand’s dominance at events like Territorial Invasion, the team that’s been the standard for what a tag division on Dynasty is supposed to look like. And yes, we didn’t quite succeed at taking it to greater heights by becoming double champions at Road To Redemption, but with time, there will come more opportunities to take a bite out of the apple. Certainly, we won't be resting on our laurels this week by any means. But I'd say having a former New Breed Champion in Effy McAvoy, who you've been paired with once before in this season, is a step up from Shio Corin. Effy actually wants to improve and prove herself against the best. She wants to do well. You? Given your nature, and what we already know from you, it won’t come as much of a surprise to anyone when you do what you’ve always done best, which is put yourself first and everything else second the moment the match stops suiting your ideal picture. Because that’s the thing about a man like you, David; you love the idea of “testing” yourself, of standing in the orbit of greatness, so long as you can control the narrative, so long as you can twist even your failures into something that still flatters your ego. Effy doesn’t have that luxury. She didn’t walk into this place with your sense of entitlement, she fought her way into conversations you thought you were automatically owed, scratching and clawing her way to a reign with the New Breed Championship, a title that has long been a launching pad for some of the biggest success stories this company has ever produced. That reign came with target after target on her back, with people lining up to use her name the same way you’re trying to use ours now, and even when she lost it, she didn’t crumble or disappear, she went right back to hunting for the next opportunity to prove she belongs in the thick of the fire. That’s why, for as reckless as she can be, there’s a level of respect there because Effy McAvoy has already shown she’s willing to stand in front of the firing squad this place becomes when you’re holding something everybody else wants.

By now, David, with you? It's clear you’re still chasing that moment that says “See? that's exactly what I've been telling you all along.” You’re still trying to turn close calls against names like Methuselah into mythology, still trying to parlay a glass-wall staredown with Limmy Monaghan into proof that you belong in the same breath as the people who actually built legacies here. You even got your first taste of being in the King of Elite tournament. A tournament that's been synonymous with producing future World Champions, like Adam Lucas, Joso, and Drake Armstrong. But again, like I just said. You see yourself as something that's far above it all, and what happened as a consequence of that? Someone else who would've relished that spot like we saw with Anna Wautier and Adam Hale was forced to watch from the sidelines while you wasted your words that had no real intent behind them except to feed your ego. And now, instead of taking that hunger and that frustration and using it to lift the partner who could actually benefit from it, you’re walking into Dynasty with the same cold detachment, the same calculated arrogance, likely to act as if teaming with Effy is just another stage for you and not a responsibility to someone who has already carried gold in this company while you’re still trying to convince everyone you're supposed to be “inevitable.” That’s why being a winnower doesn't suit you well in these parts, David. At least not from a place where people actually have to live with the weight of their choices when the bell rings and the dust settles. You call yourself “The Winnower,” the one who separates the strong from the weak, the worthy from the unworthy, but every time the real pressure has hit you so far it’s you standing on the wrong side of that divide, trying to dress it up as some grand philosophical exercise instead of admitting you got out-fought, out-worked, and out-lived in that ring. Deep down, you know you can't continue to elevate your name without getting the requisite wins that actually change the way this place talks about you. Don't get me wrong, David, you are talented. You are dangerous. You’re calculated, intelligent, and capable of pushing anybody in that ring on any given night. But until you prove otherwise, until you show you can put all of that together when the opposition is at its most ruthless, you are not inevitable and very much beatable. That's what this coming Dynasty will prove above all else.

Effy, nothing about where you are right now says “failure”; it says you are standing in the part of the climb where the view is worst but the foundation you're building is one that's actually meant to last. Everything you are feeling is real. Being left off shows, going from New Breed Champion to chasing your footing again, losing that title on a stage like Pain for Pride, all of that leaves marks that do not just fade because someone tells you to “stay positive.” You went from holding gold, to pushing champions like BRAE, to fighting inside Team Dynasty alongside people now draped in titles again, and it is easy to translate that into “everyone moved on except me.” You have already shown this brand you can be a champion, that you can walk into big-match settings and hang, that “street kid scratching and clawing” is not just a metaphor but the reason you survive when others fold. You took the New Breed Championship and made noise in a division that eats people alive when they are not ready, and even after dropping it, you were still being used as a measuring stick for names trying to prove they belong. When Team Dynasty needed one more piece for Divide & Conquer, your name was not thrown in as a pity pick. You were chosen because that fight in you, the one that refuses to die even when you are convinced you do not matter, is exactly what wins matches like that. You were part of a team that went to war so others could claim they “built” this brand, and the fact you do not feel that credit today does not erase what you brought to that table. You’re tying way too much of your worth to the posters, the bookings, the belts, and even to making Ahren proud. You love impressing him. He's changed your life, and that will always matter. But if the only time you feel like you are doing something right is when a graphic says “champion” under your name or when he says “good job,” you are handing your value to everyone but yourself. You are not “lucky to be here” anymore. You are not the kid on the outside staring through the glass. You are an Elitist who has already shown the ability to stand next to the people you keep calling your betters. To make a shift in how you want to go about your business at this point in your career may just end up becoming the kind of growth you actually need. Whether you can see it or not at this point, the girl who was just happy to be near her idol is slowly turning into the woman who understands she needs to love herself enough to want her own story, not just cameo roles in someone else’s. That is why this match with Raven and me is more than “just another booking” for you, and that is exactly why it will not be treated like a throwaway from where we stand either. If you really are serious about changing everyone’s perspective in 2026, including your own, then matches like this are not your consolation prize; they are your proving ground. You want to remind everyone how dangerous you can be? Good. Step through those ropes and do it. Not as “Ahren’s girl,” not as the underdog, not as the lost name on the roster. But as Effy McAvoy, the woman who has already bled, already held gold, already helped Team Dynasty win, and is done waiting for permission to believe in herself.

Raven and I did not stumble into seven months as Unified Tag Team Champions, did not anchor Dynasty’s Brand Warfare win, did not walk into glass, steel, and every kind of chaos this season has offered just to start 2026 treating a match like this as anything less than a live-fire drill for what comes next. Effy wants to change the way people talk about her, David wants to fast-track his way into the conversations he thinks he is entitled to, and coming up just beyond the horizon it's ToXXXin who wants to convince the world that the future is already here and they are the ones carrying it. They simply just need to bring it. Friday Night, we will do what we always do: set the standard, send a message, and we make it crystal clear that 2026 starts the same way 2025 ended. With Fire & Ice standing tall, gold in hand, while everybody else learns the difference between what it means to want the top spot and just simply being built to keep it.
