“To call Karl Impact my ‘savior’ exposes the brazen ignorance that exists beneath your veneer of intellect, Jay Jerry Johnson, for it operates off of the fundamentally flawed assertion that, in a situation that involved you, me, and the Dragonborn, I would be the one in danger. The less comfortable truth of the matter is that we never operated on the same playing field to begin with. This is not being said in order to diminish your capabilities as a professional wrestler; the very notion of ‘anthroweaponization’ implies that you have the capacity to operate as a worthy weapon in the hands of a capable tactician, after all. However, as Territorial Invasion – both Brand Warfare and War Games – demonstrated, the only capable tactician on this playing field is the one that you are going up against, while the quote-unquote ‘tactician’ that is leading the charge on your side of the ring has already led your team to its demise before and shall do so again at Wicked Games. You are a worthy weapon when you are by my side, Jay, and that is why the ‘peculiar chemistry’ that you and I both noted is present in each and every one of our tag team matches together; it is because, in preparation of charging into the fray of war, I had already mapped out your capabilities and discovered them to be a perfect match for my own. When we stand shoulder to shoulder, there is scarcely a team that can withstand the overwhelming force that we can direct with the precision of a sniper. Woefully for you, you happened to be on the other side of the ring for this bout; this is simply how things must be between us for the time being. As I made abundantly clear, I do not permit loose ends to remain loose, and the disrespect that was demonstrated to me near the end of our shared tenure on Dynasty manifested a debt on your account that was yet to be repaid… until now. Now, standing against me, you do not have the luxury of benefiting from our shared chemistry; we are foes, and our own capabilities must be weighed against each other. And what might those capabilities be?
From a strategic perspective, I already brought up the fact that my adversaries lack a true tactician on their side; that goes for Cody Maverick, the de facto junior captain of the team given his recent position at Brand Warfare, but the same principle applies for the entirety of your team. Let us dispose of any jests and look at your third member for what she truly is, Jay; Miku Sakai? Her presence in this match may very well be a greater detriment to your chances of victory than it is a boon; far be it from even considering her in any sort of tactician’s role, she cannot even play YOUR part of being a cold-blooded soldier correctly. In many forms of media, the ‘wild card’ is always brought into the fray and tends to be lauded by uneducated viewers due to the entertainment factor that they bring. Without a shadow of a doubt, for juvenile ignoramuses, Miku Sakai may very well bring in some semblance of comedic relief; for those more inclined to be licentious with her controversial stipulation against ARIA still on the mind, perhaps they value her as some sort of figure to be lusted after. But neither comedy nor lust will serve you in that ring, only physical prowess and mental acuity can; Miku Sakai’s personal brand of ferocity is wholly undermined by her utter mental instability, and this is a fact that I do not think you would dare to dispute, lest you completely discredit yourself as a credible interlocutor. So, if she cannot lead, and if Cody cannot lead, then where does that leave you? Dead in the water. YOU most certainly will not be the man to take charge, weapon. You are faced with a team that had enough might both individually and as a group that they were able to persevere through one of the most grueling matches that Elite Answers Wrestling has to offer, such that a victory there exists on par with a world championship victory or a Grand Rampage victory. THAT is the threat that you are faced with, and THAT is why you need every advantage that could possibly be afforded to you. But with no true tactical oversight of your team, are you able to rely on your individual prowess to perhaps OVERCOME that hurdle? Prithee, do not make me laugh; you, specifically, are your team’s greatest chance at survival, given that you are indeed a record-tying two-time Interwire Champion. But how much gravity does that truly hold when one of your fellow record-holders is Ronan Malosi, whom I dethroned myself to become Interwire Champion before I – unlike you – moved beyond to achieve even greater heights such as the crown of the King of Elite and victory at War Games? This leads me back to what I was saying from the very start, Jay; neither you nor Brian Daniels can hold a candle to me, because while you are both highly competent grapplers on your own merit, I am a BETTER grappler with a superior mind to boot. Cody Maverick has been several steps behind me at every moment throughout the entirety of his career, and Miku Sakai’s sole claims to legitimacy exist far too long ago to be considered even REMOTELY relevant.
Here is what is truly relevant: individually, we are the three contract holders, and together we are the team that brought success back to the Voltage brand. Some hurdles are not meant to be leapt over. You accepted this match and dove headfirst into your own grave as a result. And if we released our pairs of comrades from the picture and whittled it down to a war between you and me, even if it was a war of attrition that lasted throughout the entirety of our careers, I would nevertheless come out on top. It is by YOUR own admission that I have come to this conclusion with even more assurance than I already had before, if you can believe it. Understand that for a scion of the Armstrong Dynasty, hearing someone declare so proudly that you will ACCEPT a lesser end with joy and contentment is something that ought to be looked upon with the utmost disgust. You speak with pride about looking upon your legacy after its conclusion, bearing witness to the ink upon the pages, but the very notion that contentment is a goal to be sought after reveals to me that you are not CAPABLE of competing with me in the long run. How disappointing. We, Jay, are not after the same thing. I brought up my conversations with Kirk Redwood to Miku Sakai because he, despite being the baseborn lumpenproletarian filth that he is, looks downright aristocratic in comparison to her; I shall bring that conversation again, because there was something I said to him that has become relevant once more. I do not consider you to be a true long-term threat because your ambition does not contradict my own. My ambition is to become the greatest of all time in the professional wrestling industry, and it is a NECESSITY to eschew any notions of contentment when there may never be a unanimously declared singular greatest of all time; I have long since made peace knowing that I will be dissatisfied even when I pass away on my death bed, but therein lies the fate of all Armstrongs. An almost paradoxical destiny, in which we conquer and conquer throughout the entirety of our lives with none of the satiation that makes peasants like you and the rest of your ilk happy at the end of the day.
But that’s fine with me. I don’t need that level of contentment. I invite YOU to end your career in the middle of the road with a smile on your face, because I KNOW that I am going to end my career at the top of the mountain with a frown on my face because I knew I could have flown even higher than that if I was not bound by my own mortality.
And when we step foot in the ring against each other, Jay, that mindset is what is going to cost you each and every time. Because when I grapple, I do so with the ferocity of a man that does not have any semblance of contentment in his mind, while you fight with the timidity of a man that knows he can lose and eventually come to terms with it.
Cody Maverick, if there is one thing that I can laud you for, it is that you share a similar level of general dissatisfaction with contentment, or at least that is my present impression. Ignoring that it took you the entirety of the week to get back to us, I can only declare that your ambition, while meritorious in nature, will fail just as much as it did at Brand Warfare. Do you know why? It is because, for all of the humility that others may praise in you, I spit upon; it is all you can do to just ACKNOWLEDGE your defeat at Brand Warfare and be dissatisfied with it, but a man like me not only WOULD learn from his mistakes, but already DID. The very Brand Warfare match you brought up in 2024, in which I rose up the ranks without a shadow of a doubt before succumbing to your team – thanks to someone that is not you, mind you – is what put the events of War Games into play. That is the difference between us, Cody. You still contradict yourself by taking pride in having the COURAGE to become the team captain for Voltage’s Brand Warfare team, but what you left with is ultimately the very consolation prize that you wore you would not accept. You get to SAY that you were captain. I get to proudly DECLARE that I was the VICTORIOUS captain. The same fate awaits you at Wicked Games, Cody, because you have yet to LEARN, and if you have any semblance of intellect remaining after all the blows to your head, you will learn the painful lesson that I will instill in you tomorrow and apply it to your future to avoid any more marquee losses to taint your record.”
