Sitting at a library somewhere in Chicago, IL, dressed in long white pants and a red coat with her hair together in a bun, Jamie Cross looks hard at work on a computer. With her journal and pen laying next to her on the desk, Jamie gets caught off guard by the camera. Getting startled, she quickly turns around with a smile on her face, taking a moment to calm down after the scare. Before starting to speak in a tired tone.
"I am so sorry for this late response. As locker room leader, this is very unacceptable from me. So I'd like to take a moment to apologize to not only all of the Main Character stans waiting at home refreshing and waiting for me to respond, but I'd also like to apologize to all of the people in the back at Voltage who can't sleep without seeing my pretty cute face at least once a day to make sure I'm alive and well. And to Valerie for keeping this much anticipated promo in my back pocket for a few days. But allow me to explain why I've been gone the last couple of days. See, I promised the entire world that with my help, Voltage would become a better place. A place people can be proud of, and I was going to lead the yellow brand to new heights in 2024. And not surprisingly, a lot of people got on board with my mission to turn Voltage into a show people actually watch and don't just skim. That's such a Dynasty thing. We at Voltage need to step up and address our issues so the entire world can see them. One of those issues is that horrible logo that is plastered over every single corner on screen and backstage. I mean, the bright colors kind of distract us, in case you didn't know. 95% of reported losses on Voltage happen due to blindness after looking at a Voltage logo or even the commentary table. That color has cost many people many important matches. So my first goal as locker room leader was to change that, so everyone gets an even shot at being the star of Voltage. So that every champion gets the chance to live out their dreams. That's my goal. Anyway, I got off track. I've been fixing this problem and brainstorming a few ideas of what this new era of Voltage would look like under my view, and of course, it has some of that main character sprinkled in it. So take a look at the final product of the new Voltage logo!
As you can see, this logo is much better. It is a slick and easy design that won't distract the wrestlers or fans at any point at a show. It's something that gives as much detail as it needs to and isn't too annoying to look at. And it shows the entire world that voltage doesn't need flashy logos, graphics, or even lights to be good. The action inside the ring speaks for itself. And that is only the first majorly needed change that I will make to Voltage in 2024. The rest I haven't gotten to just yet. Trust me, it took me probably an entire day to learn how to use Photoshop to make that mockup logo. But I got the job done, so if you need a graphic designer, your girl is open. But the changes are coming day by day. Like this past week on Voltage, we took the first step in my goal of fixing Voltage and showing the entire world that I am the main character by removing Piff from Voltage. I told you all that Piff was just a side character in my story that you'd only see once and would never see again, and all I gotta say is.
Folks,
Where's the lie?
Piff is gone, but I have to talk to Piff personally and thank him. Thank him for welcoming me back to Voltage and allowing me to not only be the one to send him on his way out of Elite Answers Wrestling, but allowing me to use him as a sacrifice to show that Jamie Cross tells no lies. I've only told the truth so far, and if you don't believe what I'm saying, Just know that one day you'll be considered a bang wagoner, which isn't always the worst thing. It's always great to be on the train at one point, then to never be on the train ever. But Piff is gone. Piff is the past, and now we look to the future and the next chapter in my story, One of Progress. But this chapter isn't a new chapter; it's actually a returning chapter. Ms. Valerie Hellstorm, Long time, no see. The last time our names tangled, we met in a triple threat, like you said. And yes, you did come out victorious, but getting a cheap victory over someone BLINDED by a bright Voltage logo isn't something we should be discussing in this kind of time. It's something to be taking to the corporate office to be looked at. Actually, I should go there myself and get that loss voided off my EAW record. But I digress. Ever since that triple threat, we've both grown so much, Brianna too. You've gone on to join La Familia, and I've gone on to figure out exactly who I was. While I was away on a trip to Hawaii for a few weeks, And just a little tip... The drinks aren't all that good. But I have to say, I'm very happy to see you're a fan of my work. It truly is inspiring to see my fellow roster members looking at me like I looked at Bethany Blue when I first walked through the doors.
But, Valerie, if you're going to tell my story, don't be a trashy wrestling reporter who reports false information behind a paywall. Read what's in the book, word for word, bar for bar. I didn't leave Elite Answers Wrestling because "it got too hard." If you go back to my book at chapter 1, page 9, it clearly says I left Elite Answers Wrestling because I didn't know who I was anymore, and who I was trying to be on camera wasn't getting me anywhere. It's like trying to walk through a brick wall. I needed to leave and come back with a different attitude, a different look, and an entire different mindset, just like Caroline told me I needed all the way back when I got my first championship shot here, almost a year ago. But the one thing you got right is that to make an impact, you have to step on some toes. Why else do you think I stepped on AJ's toes last week? Because I see the weakness in his eyes—the same weakness that cost me many of my early matches—it's not something you can get rid of; it's called fear. Fear of being so new that you don't want to screw it up. I recognized his weakness and saw an opportunity to use him as a stepping stone, just like I used Piff as a stepping stone, and look where it landed him. It's not about wanting an "easy way out," Valerie, If I wanted an easy way out, I would've gone for TLA again. Because I've beaten him once before, and I know I could do it again... I'm simply trying to remove the weak from the Voltage roster so this show can become the top show in all of EAW with only the best athletes in the world. I'm tired of seeing opportunity's handed to people on a silver plate who don't give it everything they got, and before you know it, halfway through an intense rivalry... POOF... gone. Never to be seen again, that's not what the top program needs.
I like you, Valerie. Luckily, unlike Piff, I wouldn't deem you a side character in my story. I'm a big fan of yours, and I see every bit of potential that everyone else sees. I can see why you got into La Famila. See, most factions have that one guy or girl that simply never lives up to the rest of the group. That's usually the person who does a whole lot of nothing besides eat pins and get beaten down, but La Famila doesn't seem to have that role. You guys are all equals, and I think that's something special, something that truly makes you guys one of the best factions in EAW today, maybe even the entire history. Not to mention the merchandise sales, I'm sure you guys play a big part in those numbers that hit my paycheck. So I can only say, Thank you.Thank you for being a role model to the entire roster and a great example of what we need to see here on Voltage day in and day out. BUT... That doesn't make you the main characters; I am the main character; I am the franchise of my own story, and no one will derail that. Not even the biggest of superstars. 2024 might be the year of La Famila, but it's also the year of Jamie Cross. And if putting you in that position in La Famila I spoke about earlier is what I need to do to carry on my journey to the top of this company, trust me, I will not hesitate.
As much as I take inspiration from people like Bethany Blue or Minerva, they are the people that got me to the dance, and if I stopped dancing so they could step over me, I wouldn't get anywhere. If that makes sense, Valerie. The point is, in life, there are winners and losers. Without the losers, there are no winners. Much like if there were no side characters, there would be no main character. Everyone is making a claim to make 2024 their year. It's the same catchy and corny line that is used every January in not just EAW, but life. But here, the line starts behind me. My redemption story will take over 2024 before anyone elses. You'll get your comeback. You'll comeback stronger than ever. I know that because I see it in you. Just not this week, not yet. But one day, when my vision of this new voltage comes to light and things truly start to change around here, your career will change for the better. It's all part of the process. Always trust the process.
And always trust the main character."
