MATCH PROMO Weak Ambitions (Dynasty #002)

The Flying Dutchman

Ambition? Determination? Don't kid yourself with such props, please.

Shisui, I'm going to be completely honest with you, and I'm not going to hold any truth back from you. The determination and ambition you have is very little, but I can envision why you would want such a thing, I mean, who wouldn't? Having ambition and determination is the key to success and prosperity. But you? Your desire to actually win is very opaque and foggy, especially when it seems that your main goal is to insult your opponent on a personal level rather than to improve and win. You can say you're striving for improvement, but until I see actual improvement, I have no reason to believe a word that comes out of your incompetent lips.

I'm glad you won't forget the encounters you have had beforehand, but your performances were so embarrassing, I wouldn't wish that upon my worst enemy.

You're nothing that hype yourself up to be, you're quite the opposite. You continue to talk about standout performances, but I went and looked back at these so called “standout performances”, and personally, I don't see what stands out. It just looks like the ordinary Shisui Tategami match, which happens to be a performance that barely scratches the average performance of a competitor. Which is disappointing in itself, because after all that you said about them, I expected you to have beaten all of them, I expected you to have slain them in cold blood. But of course you didn't, because you don't have that victory gene built into your system, you're just a self-hyped brawler with a sob story that not a single soul cares about. My apologies if that came off as rude, but I'm trying to make you aware of the truth, since the things other men have said didn't quite get to your head.

No, no, no. Shisui, you've got it wrong.

I am not “underestimating” you, not at all. I'm trying to fix you in something more proper. I see that, under tons upon tons of hideous pride, there's a glimmer of potential. While it may be microscopic, it's still there, I can envision a future where Shisui actually succeeds. But like I said, the light is bleak, it's small, it's quite literally a one in a million universes. But maybe, just maybe, you can be saved. With the proper guidance, with the correct teachings, and the mindset of a close-minded human being, you can climb up. I know that there's a tiny part of you that's capable of it, but you suppress it. Why? Why do you suppress the judicious ideas? It just doesn't make any sense to me. I'd like to fix you into someone better, but you just won't swallow your pride and accept it. So, I'll beat you into submission. Maybe then, you'll open your eyes and realize that I'm right.

I don't think that is true. You're not public enemy number one. You're just an annoyance.

I get why you're viewed in such a manner, considering you love to get on people's nerves, or so I presume. But let's get one thing straight, Shisui, you and I both know that I'm not a public enemy. I'm not even sure if half of the entire roster knows your name! Truthfully, the same could be said with myself, but you've been around much longer than I have. I'm not sure what you were attempting to do when you referred to me as, “Another Mig De Decker”, considering we have no relation nor are we connected in any way. And to top all of that off, he also beat you. So, what does that make you? Hm? Sure, you've faced more notable men than I have, but what happened when you actually stepped inside the ring with them? You lost. Do not vaunt your losses to me, Shisui,. I am in no mood to listen to the people you've lost to.

Like I stated before, you've got no creativity. Not a single inspirational cell in your entire body.

Again, you're a blank canvas. You lack ingenuity as well as a vision. Your goal to hurt the people who wronged you is completely dull and confusing. You're going to hurt anybody and everybody inside the ring because of the people who wronged you? I don't need to know your life story in order to comprehend the type of person you are. Your desires are rooted in selfishness and a sob story so that people pay attention to you. And despite that, you still do not have the attention that you seek so desperately. I've got no doubt that this wasn't the kind of attention that he really wanted. He was looking for the attention of all these big stars, but he landed on someone within this company with all that to gain, nothing to lose, and hungrier than ever.

Who are you to judge my motives and ambitions?

Cliche or not, my motives to become Champion someday and become a name that is notable to all within EAW, are still motives. But you're wrong, Shisui, those are not my only motives. Another thing I would like to do is master my craft, perfect the mat, and turn it into my domain. That is undoubtedly not an easy task, obviously, there's not many men nor women who have been able to tame that ring, but I do hope to achieve that. Something that confuses me just a little is how you claim to me that my motives are basic, yet, your motives are probably the most common goal I've seen. Hurting people as your motives is something everybody is supposed to do, that's how you win, no? Then again, there just might be a deeper meaning as your reason for competition.

If what you say is true, and you're competing because you want revenge against the people that wronged you, then you're doing a terrible job. You've made an utter fool of yourself in all three matches that you have competed in, and you expect to show the people that banished you that you're not to be messed with? I suggest that you start trying harder, because with the way you're going right now, you'll plumber and fall. I'm glad that you're going to get up and keep fighting, it brings a smile to my face, but you know what doesn't? The fact that you're insulting me in such a way. You haven't even seen my wrestle, yet, you state that I don't know myself? This isn't the time to project, Shisui. If you assume that I do not know myself, then come find out whether or not I know myself. I know my weaknesses, I know my strengths, and I know the same for you.

As I stated before, you're predictable, too predictable. It's as if you don't know what to say so you just say it again. Your temper is made of glass, that's clearly a reoccurring issue, get that controlled. And of course, you're just bland. I'm sorry to break it to you, Shisui, but you're quite boring. I don't like to hear you talk, it irritates my ears. No offense of course.

Yes, Shisui, I am a blank slate. I'm pretty sure that any newcomer is a blank slate, so I don't really see your point. Another thing, what do you mean when you say you're different from the rest because of the way you carry yourself? Seems to me that there's plenty of guys back there who do the same things you do, just better. It's a bit ironic that you're the one who refers to me as all of those things, considering the fact that you don't have any credibility to your name, you have no substance or style, because that's what makes you, “Shisui Tategami”.

I hope you don't fall too quickly within our match. I want to see if you're actually up to the test.

I'd imagine you want to win this one as well, so I have faith that you'll treat this as if it's your last. But seeing as you've failed twice in the past, I doubt that you'll be up to the test, I doubt that you'll be able to properly keep up. Something similar to the story of your life, right? Also, what is this, “lesser wrestler” idea that you're trying to push? I still do not understand considering I am nothing like these other men that you have faced. It just doesn't make sense to me that you're comparing me to a man that I've never met nor have I ever seen. These comparisons will be what brings you to an utter end, Shisui.

Now, Shisui, you're getting too ahead of yourself! You say that you're composed and clear-headed, but I don't see that, I truly don't. Maybe I'm missing a piece in this puzzle, but it seems to me that you're treating this match the same way you have in the previous two. To which, I am greatly disappointed. Unfortunately for you, Shisui, I do not plan to lose, especially not to the likes of you.

The same goes to you, Shisui. I pray that you're not an idiot inside that ring. Though, I won't get my hopes too high, I know you've got a tendency to disappoint when it truly matters.

You're right. Rome wasn't built in a day, but at least Rome had intelligent and experienced workers behind it. Inside your head, there's nothing but flies and cobwebs.
