“Why do you believe the things that you do?

Do your principles hold true when exposed to scrutinizing eyes?

Or do they implode upon themselves, victims of your own fraudulent ideals?

Results, Joso, are the name of the game; you want to feel pride in pushing someone really hard, but as I already mentioned, I’ve heard that very same rhetoric for the past agonizing month. If you feel no shame in your defeat, then you did not refute my accusations at all; you merely reaffirmed them and you did so WILLINGLY. I declared you to be a glorified MITSU and you twiddled your thumbs for days before turning around, puffing out your chest, and saying with an imbecilic grin plastered across your face, ‘YES I AM!’. This is what passes for a ‘king’ nowadays; notice the tone by which I’m calling you ‘king’, mind you, because I’ll expand on that soon enough. Not everyone with a regal title can become the embodiment of unbridled greatness, I suppose. For every Napoleon, Caesar, and Alexander, you have your Edward II, Nero, and Nicholas II. So many monarchs, imbued with regal power and adorned with glimmering jewels, ended up looking like the average peasant victimized by war when faced with power greater than their own. And that is precisely what I am meant to be to you, Joso; it isn’t lost on me that this main event is ‘The New Era’ vs ‘The Future’. The key difference is that you’re at this point after five years of struggle, and I’m just over a year into my career and prepped to speed past you like a bullet train overtaking a rusty tricycle.

That’s why you’re here trying to brag about a loss in one breath and insulting my victory in the next; everything you think you are and can be, I am set to become greater than. My potential is outside of the realm of your imagination, because filth like you is incapable of comprehending how incredible the scion of the Armstrong Dynasty is destined to become. Results like mine for the past three FPV’s and counting are explicit, tangible, and above all else, UNDENIABLE. You writhe and squirm in your pathetic attempts to downplay me, but your denials are as valuable as grains of sand when all I need to do is display the results of the match to invalidate all of your whining. Drake Armstrong def. Cy Henderson; no asterisks, no interferences, nothing outside of the rules of the match. The only reason you and the rest of the unwashed masses that dare to oppose me are so insistent with your incessant nitpicking about that clean win is because that win INVALIDATES so much of what my opposition is. You take pride in almost beating a legend in a clean match, I take pride in ACTUALLY beating a legend in a clean match; as a matter of fact, my legend had YOUR legend beaten before I interfered in the match. The funny thing is, while you insult my victory over Cy, I can play your OWN game better than you can! Rewind your EAW timeline to December, to Road to Redemption, where I fought Cy in a losing effort. In that match, I pushed him to the limit similarly to what you did at Grand Rampage; of course, I pushed him to the point of using Celestial Tide while you never even felt Jamie O’Hara’s Apotheosis. As it turns out, even following your pathetic logic, I STILL outdo you. I did the ‘almost’ better than you did. I feigned satisfaction with how that match turned out for about a week, lulling Cy into a false sense of security before I continued my hunt more aggressively than before and, unlike you, FINISHED THE JOB.

What happens a few months from now, Joso, when you face the world champion and push him REAAAALLY hard before you ALMOST win and actually lose? Do you swagger around the EAW locker room for all of Season 18 telling the roster and the EAW Universe as a whole just how much of a good fight you gave to Myles? Do you flaunt a five star classic while you sit with goldless shoulders and an expired crown? They have a word for that, Joso, and it’s called ‘gatekeeper’; this kind of cavalier attitude is a dangerous sign that you’re pigeonholing yourself into that very role. You’re going to become the man with some accolades in the distant past that now gives promising stars their BEST matches before hearing THEIR music play. And when those ‘proud losses’ start racking up, your name value starts dwindling further and further before you become a walking joke to every New Breed that steps through the front door.

You want to talk about mistakes? This mindset of yours is a mistake. It’s the kind of attitude that’ll have you reverse course and plummet back into the same rut you scratched and clawed to ESCAPE. It’s a sign of WEAKNESS, Joso, and I can sense it. I can smell it like a shark smells blood, and I won’t hesitate to lunge forth and capitalize on it. I’m well aware of the implications of this match and the context with which you’re approaching it; traditional knowledge would dictate that this is an exhibition match used to gift you with a ‘comeback victory’ after your loss at Grand Rampage. If you approach it with even a hint of that kind of complacency, you’ll find yourself staring up at the lights before you can even blink, wondering where you are and what your name is. Even the slightest flinch will have the ‘king’ knocked out in his own court. Some like to say that losses are needed to kick wrestlers into motivational overdrive, but I’m walking into this match with the opposite experience. I’m imbued with more momentum AND motivation than ever before. I’ve vanquished all opposition for the past four months; every FPV of 2024 has my matches ending with my hand raised in victory while my opponents’ expressions lie somewhere between disappointed and unconscious. You’re looking to prove that Jamie was an exception to the ‘rule’, and that you are otherwise a perfect winner; tragically for you, you’ll find that there exists more than one exception, and another one is named Drake Armstrong. You had the month of February to be Elitist of the Month, but one month later and I’ve managed the same feat. I’m coming off the heels of an inconceivable victory, a title win, and a title defense, all of which were clean as a whistle. Every victory and achievement I’ve been earning has been fuel to my rise and water to the tidal wave that is my momentum; look up, Joso, and bask in the sheer height of it. You’ll only have a moment to do so before you get crushed underneath its weight.

For now, though, let’s put aside that King of Elite match and talk about those two matches we had together earlier in the season. There’s a reason I didn’t bring them up, you know, despite coming out on top; it didn’t serve me much purpose to do so. Our singles match was just about half a year ago; just as you say you were in your rut, I too had yet to rise to the heights I’ve reached and am continuing to surpass on a daily basis. I have no need to employ such tactics when I can just beat you senseless with my bare fist. Neither of us are the same as we were back in November. If you want to reminisce back to that match, then by all means, do so; however, you stepped into quite the bear trap by mentioning the nature of my victory in our tag team match. Are you, Joso, ‘King of Elite’, complaining about victory by interference? That’s quite amusing. An intriguing line of thought indeed. What happens if I tug at that string some more? I’ll tell you exactly what happens: this intricate narrative of the ‘king’ unravels, exposing it for being nothing but a fraudulent structure held up by paperclips and hypocrisy.

What happens is that we turn back the clock to the round PRIOR to the King of Elite finals, where the only reason you won the match was due to Jay Jerry Johnson’s interference.

What happens is that the very premise of your faux-regal ego is based off a match that you had no LEGITIMATE reason to be in, based off your own standards.

What happens is that the king’s crown is on your head in a way that goes against everything you CLAIM to stand for, and that each and every time you brag about it, you commit a blatant act of hypocrisy.

I’m not speaking to the King of Elite, Joso; I’m speaking to the “””””King of Elite”””””. You didn’t sweep the tournament; you lost your claim to legitimate progression in the semifinals and then won a triple threat. Incidentally, at Operation: Doomsday, I won a triple threat too! And I didn’t end up in the match due to anybody’s interference. That makes my claim to the king’s crown just as legitimate as yours; as I said, it’s a Crown of Plastic. The King of Fumbling may reveal himself in the main event of Dynasty when I show you a mirror and reveal to you what a fraud you really are. Your bold claims to being a ‘face of the company’, of being the ‘king’, they’re all predicated off a match you should’ve never had in the first place. And then you wonder why your words ring so hollow? How foolish.

Ah, but of course, you ‘earned’ this. You worked so HARD, and that’s why you DESERVE this! You don’t, according to your own standards, but you said it so it must be true! Of course, that is the pathology of the mind of Joso; you NEED to believe that because you have NOTHING else. Elite Answers Wrestling is your everything because you have nothing to fall back on. You grew up from nothing, born to the miserable pit of despair known as Bronx, which happens to be less than half an hour away from my mansion in Scarsdale. Isn’t that amusing? Less than 15 miles apart, yet our births and upbringings are as different as night and day, dry and wet, victory and defeat. Surely life couldn’t be so pointlessly cruel and unfair, right? Surely you were MEANT for something! You’re DESTINED for greatness – you believe, with not an ounce of reason to do so. A rootless peasant with a lineage so insignificant and worthless that it could vanish from the Earth and the only difference in the world would be the fact that humanity collectively gained a little more space that got freed up from your absence. Your baseless self-belief has carried you this far, but I’ve already pointed out the cracks in your armor; moreover, YOU have shown the world those cracks yourself! It’s only a matter of time before someone who ACTUALLY has destiny on his side pries those cracks apart and causes you to crumble into the filthy dirt where you belong. Then, perhaps the inconceivably dense structure known as your mind can comprehend that the world was never on the side of a peasant to begin with; these delicacies that you’ve stumbled into will only make it hurt more when you lose it all and are left with nothing but the bleak reality of your existence. Born with nothing, dead with nothing.

That same pathology of the mind is what leads you to make such inane claims as ‘being the reason for the platform’ and that I ought to ‘thank you’. That you took this company by storm in a way that nobody has done before. Would you believe that they call ME delusional when someone like you produces lies as often as you produce carbon dioxide? None of those claims are true. Not even remotely. Not to rain on your parade, Joso, because I’m sure you feel oh-so giddy after having ‘won’ the King of Elite tournament, but better stars than you have taken the company by grander storm in the past. The man I beat at King of Elite is the MOST notable case of this. I’ll deliver the same fate unto you in a few days’ time. As for this ‘platform’? Calm down. You won the New Era tournament and presented yourself as such; from a marketing standpoint, I can appreciate the technique. However, if that tournament was removed from history, would my career cease to exist? New Breeds existed prior to and after the tournament; their existence is not predicated on the tournament, it is predicated on Elite Answers Wrestling being the premier professional wrestling promotion in the world. I don’t have a single thing to thank you for when it comes to the platform; I am here to conquer the industry in the name of Armstrong, and that goal will be achieved whether you are here or not.

There is one thing that I will thank you for, and even that comes with an asterisk that brings us full circle. I thank you for, no matter how you achieved it, winning the King of Elite tournament. That’s correct; after a video filled with deriding you for your hypocrisy, I am commending you for it. Rest assured, my reasoning is sound. It has to do with Dynasty, our beloved brand. Back during Territorial Invasion, I stated that for my ambitions to be facilitated, I needed Dynasty to be the top brand that EAW has to offer. If I am to rise to the pinnacle of the industry, then I must exist within the undisputedly supreme brand. And without a shadow of a doubt, in Season 17, Friday Night Dynasty has been THE best brand. Every major clash of brands has resulted in our superiority being put on display. I was personally there for my Brand Warfare team’s victory, of course, but Dynasty won at War Games. Expanding from the traditional brand supremacy FPV of Territorial Invasion, our brand’s Jake Smith won the Grand Rampage match and, of course, YOU won King of Elite for Dynasty… no matter how you got into the finals to begin with. Dynasty has utterly trounced the other brands; by all rights, the implications of that reverberate throughout the entire season. Every match, from championship to exhibition, becomes more valuable if it takes place under the Dynasty umbrella. Our airtime gets viewed more because fans naturally want to watch where the competition is at its ‘PEAK’, to quote our world champion. Speaking of champion, our TITLES become more valuable, including the one sitting upon my shoulder. Nevertheless, I’ve never been satisfied with just having the lead; it is in my nature to extend the lead and expand the gap as widely as possible. I must leave the National Elite and Hardcore championships in the DUST, and one great way to do that is to SHORTEN the distance between the Interwire Championship and the world title echelon as much as possible. What better way to do that than to beat you? A former Interwire Champion in your own right and the ‘King of Elite’, set to face off against the world champion in due time? In the main event of the first post-Grand Rampage show, officially within the boundaries of Pain for Pride season? As much as you think this is your match to win in order to come back from defeat, I need this victory to simultaneously legitimize my Interwire Championship reign and PROPEL the Interwire Championship as much as possible.

The aforementioned ‘asterisk’ is that you sullied our streak when you took a chance on yourself and did a high-level Interbrand challenge match. King vs Ace, what a marquee! Had you won, Dynasty’s undisputed position would have been solidified even further; however, with your loss, you produced the rare dent in the armor, the sole major blemish on our record this season. Now, the responsibility falls on me to wipe you out and prove that you were never a properly designated representative for Dynasty to begin with. Responsibility being the key word; you should have taken responsibility when you claimed to represent the New Era’s wrestlers and implicitly represented our brand, yet in one fell swoop you let both down.

I, the Future, approach this main event to punish you for that transgression. From the ashes of another Joso loss, I will rise further than I have already risen, and I will pull the Interwire Championship with me to heights that you couldn’t reach in your reign. You, meanwhile, will be left to struggle with the UNCERTAINTY that you thought you escaped. You think that beating Chris Elite and winning the King of Elite tournament has freed you from the possibility of a rut? You think it’s smooth sailing to your guaranteed world title shot? All that is guaranteed is the match itself; nothing says I can’t send you there with a broken mind, broken body, and broken spirit. I, for one, lack faith in you; it would be against my interests to simply settle down and let you take the reins as the undisputed representative of the future. So at Dynasty, I intend to beat you and prove that there exists a brighter future than the one you claim to represent; and as we move past Dynasty and into the months ahead, I look forward to seeing the King of Fumbling do his thing once again. Don’t worry, though; I’ll surpass your status as I’ve already surpassed your wrestling capabilities soon enough. It wouldn’t be the first time I said something to you before it came true.”
When that bell tolls and signals my victory, I want you to look between those ropes and gaze directly into the camera; give the EAW Universe, as well as Cy Henderson and Theron Nikolas in particular, an expression that shows them what awaits them when they go face to face with the Future. And when it’s all said and done, you’ll get company as a ‘former’ Interwire Champion when I, Drake Armstrong, become the CURRENT champion. The Cyclone gave mention to the immense amount of gold that I own; while that is splendid, and while the Brand Warfare victory crowns my rookie year with greatness, it’s about damn time I silence the impudent naysayers with a MATERIAL achievement. And this time when I shoot for it? I won’t miss.”
