βš‚ CHARACTER INFORMATION βš‚
🞜 Disposition/Alignment 🞜
Attitude Era Babyface
🞜 Gimmick 🞜
An egotistical but always riveting wrestler, Cody Maverick defines the word "superstar". A "maverick" is an unorthodox or independent minded person, and that's exactly what Cody is. He lives and dies by his own morals. His unapologetic don't give a fuck attitude brings appeal in very quickly. A pariah in the truest sense, you're either with what Cody does or you're against it. He lives and breathes the wrestling business and he intends on talking the talk and walking the walk every single time he's in that ring, regardless of whose in his way. As time goes by, Cody is starting to build more of a reputation as a an favorite and it's paid dividends for him. He's starting to embrace the crowd reaction and has no problem calling out people that he feels are more 'arrogant' than him and willing to cross the line. With the crowd on the side, it hasn't stopped Cody from coming across as an asshole, but clearly people are starting not to care what he is.

βš‚ MOTIVATIONS βš‚
🞜 Cody's Motivations 🞜

A former Golden Gloves boxer, Cody Maverick knows what it's like to be taken down to the deep end and scratch and claw to swim his way back up to the surface. Time and time again he has faced adversity and never ran from it. With his days as an amateur boxer over with, Cody's desire to be recognized as the very best in whatever profession he took on drove him to professional wrestling, something he had always held an eye on. No longer interested in the long fight camps that come with boxing, Cody brings his discipline and hunger to the wrestling ring instead, and he's got no problem getting dirty because he wants the entire world to recognize him as that guy.
🞜 Tendency to Cheat 🞜
Rarely. Cody used to be very wiling to take victory by any means necessary, and he certainly won't complain if it happens now; but in order to get ahead, he's now focused on racking up victories as decisive as possible to shut up his opponents, aware of the discourse that surrounds his every move due to his obnoxious nature.

βš‚ IN-RING INFORMATION βš‚
🞜 Wrestling Debut 🞜
August 18th, 2023
🞜 Favorite Match Types 🞜
Iron Man Match. Cody's past as a boxer means he's got the endurance to keep it pushing over a long amount of time, and would see losing a fall as losing a round -- as long as he ends up with more falls.
🞜 Least Favorite Match Types 🞜
Submission Match. He's not very privy to that part of pro wrestling yet, and the idea of tapping out and giving another man the victory makes him sick to his stomach.
🞜 Favorite Weapon 🞜
As it stands right now? The only weapon that Cody Maverick needs is his fists. Pretentious? Yes. But useful? 100%.
🞜 In-Ring Achievements 🞜
None, yet.

🞜 Signature Moves 🞜
1. 'Lights Out'
Cody either bounces off the ropes or runs forward for added momentum, leaping into a Superman Punch. Due to Cody's impeccable power and precision from his boxing days, it's often used as a direct set-up to the end of the match, unless used out of sheer desperation. [x]

2. 'Moneymaker' Cody grabs his opponent by the head and drapes their legs onto the top rope (in the corner), dropping back into a DDT. [x]

3. 'Deep End' Cody catches his opponent off an irish whip, charging at him, or by complete surprise with a Spinebuster lift, 180-ing in mid air before he slams them down. It's Cody's weakest signature, but still a move that not many want to find themselves being hit with. [x]
🞜 Finishing Moves 🞜
1. 'High Roller
' Cody catches the opponent in a half-nelson, propelling them up in the air for a high angle bridging Olympic Slam (think Shuji Kondo's Whale Hunt). An extremely powerful move that can wear down one's neck, it goes hand in hand with the Moneymaker & Deep End. Much more powerful than the Sin City Stunner, but opponents are prone to have it scouted out for that reason, making it a very hard move to execute. Since Cody uses this rarely, it should have a much rarity kick out rate than the Sin City Stunner. [x]

2. 'Sin City Stunner' It's in the name. Cody sets up for a move with a kick to the gut, and then grabbing the opponent by the head with both hands and driving them jaw-first onto his shoulder with the Stunner. A move both conventional and can be hit out of nowhere, Cody defaults to this one if the High Roller isn’t quite going his way. This is Cody’s go-to finisher. It can be kicked out of. [x]

UF. 'Angel Of Mercy' In an extremely big time match and unable to get the job done with either of his finishers, Cody goes to the deadliest move in his arsenal, a move so deadly that he will go out of his way to avoid doing. Cody starts this move by lifting his opponent in a Powerbomb, and dropping them to the side in a DDT-like manuever, drilling the opponent head first into the canvas, and disorienting them with a sudden twist in the air. [x]

βš‚ NOTES βš‚
- When talking to someone one on one, Cody can be quite condescending unless it’s someone much higher than him.
- If you didn’t know already, Cody will absolutely REMIND you what his nicknames are. It can get quite grating.
- Despite how much of a condescending asshole he can be to his peers, somehow the fans remain behind him. He never loses track of that, should probably embrace it more.
- Is he bagless or is he just efficient?
- Cody's infatuation (near desperation) with becoming a champion has affected how he acts on a weekly basis, considering he will do anything to be a somebody. If a champion, expect him to think less of those who struggle to find success: using said people as the kind of person he doesn't want to be.
