"The Unkillable"
Kirk Redwood
Base: “Filthy” Tom Lawlor
Nicknames: “Unkillable”, “The Dog of War”, “The Renewed”
Height: 6’0”
Weight: 210 Pounds
Hometown: Boston, Massachusetts
Inspiration: Tom Lawlor, Biff Busick, Tim Thatcher and Kyle O’Reilly
Disposition: Tweener
Gimmick: Redwood, as a former street fighter, has had his run-ins with the law. He's proud of his background, but is looking to go legit in EAW. He came in with a shitty attitude, but a few losses showed him that EAW is the best way to fix his life and prove himself as a fighter and as a man.
UPDATE 10/24: Redwood lost his wife and child, the entire reason he tried to be a good man. As a result, he was forced to admit to himself that he went to jail because he is a violent man who can't control himself. Being unable to cope with going through prison just to lose his family, all he can think of now is making his opponents bleed and beating the shit out of them. He is an alcoholic, slowly losing control again, but this time there is no glue to hold him together.
Update 3/1 - Redwood is still an alcoholic, but his goal is much clearer now: he wants to be the baddest motherfucker on the roster. He wants to prove he can endure the most pain and dish it back out. Win or lose, he wants to walk away from every match with lasting scars on him and his opponent.
Update 4/17/23: Redwood is a deeply tortured man. Stuck between a desire to be a good father and his nature as a violent criminal, Kirk struggles to hold onto the light. He finds it hard to be good and sometimes instinctively does evil, but he never relishes in it. When he does break the rules, he is frustrated with himself. Overall, though, he’d rather go out with a whisper as a good man and father than with the roar of his old dirty tactics.
Update 4/23/2024: Sobriety was not the sole savior Kirk had hoped. Despite training, despite meditation, Kirk soon learned that he was only restricting himself. Once, he was a killer. Back when he first started. Now? He’s a lamb. Well…WAS a lamb. Realizing that he has to let the killer out of him, Kirk is accepting his propensity for violence. Knowing that his girlfriend will stay his hand if he gets too rough, he feels comfortable being an animal. After all…a weak man can’t bring a title back to his daughter. As he’ll say: worth dying for, worth killing for, worth going to hell for. Underneath his eyes, a simmering rage always can be seen.

In the ring, Kirk is even more focused in his rage. Every opponent is trying to take food out his mouth. Every loss is a failure. It’s not even enough to win, he has to sear it into his opponents: Redwood is done fucking around. All of his emotions are let out in the ring, pushing him to be even more violent and reckless. If he gets an edge or opening, he will use it to grind his opponent into dust. When he gets pushed emotionally and mentally, he may snap. At this point, only his girlfriend will stop him.
Theme: Sinister Purpose by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Entrance: Redwood walks out on the stage with gritted teeth. He slaps himself in the face to get blood flowing then punches the ground. As he punches the ground pyro explodes down the ramp. Amanda emerges behind him as he stands up. He takes her hand and marches down the ring with hate in his eyes.
Special Entrance Theme: Tom Waits - Telephone Call From Istanbul
Special Entrance: The screen turns black and white while Redwood walks out on the stage with gritted teeth. A red spotlight, the only color shines down on him. He slaps himself in the face to get blood flowing then punches the ground. As he punches the ground pyro explodes down the ramp and color re-appears. Amanda emerges behind him as he stands up. He takes her hand and marches down the ring with hate in his eyes.
Motivation: At first, Redwood wanted to find the person to take him out for good, a suicidal attitude that crushed him. But now he has a desire to extend his career in EAW. Before coming to EAW, Redwood had been imprisoned for illegal street fighting, costing him his reputation and his family. Now he needs to climb the ropes in EAW for his own sake.
UPDATE 10/24: Redwood has lost his family, leaving him to confront the fact that he enjoys hurting people and winning matches. All he wants now is his future of "red and gold" which is blood and championships.
Update 4/1: Redwood wants to fight the best and be the toughest guy on the roster. He wants to step in that ring and have his opponent shitting their pants. Titles are a means to face and beat the best on the roster. However, sometimes it’s enough for Redwood to leave scars on his opponent so they’ll always know what he can do even in loss.
Update: 4/17/23: Kirk Redwood has begun to realize that being a scumbag was the easy way out. After seeing how it has affected his daughter, Lyra, Kirk has decided to try and be a good man and learn the craft of professional wrestling. He wants to be the best wrestler he can become to prove to his daughter that he is bigger than his darker half. Every opponent he beats clean, he shows that redemption is a possibility for every man.
Update 4/23/24: When Kirk first came to EAW, he was fresh out of prison. Looking for a way to ply his trade legally, he approached EAW like a prison yard. Shortly after, his wife filed for divorce plunging Redwood into alcoholism and depression. After awhile he was picked up by Stane and they won the tag titles. Losing it shortly after, Redwood saw the effect his behavior had on his daughter and decided to get sober. Stane treated this like a poison and ultimately cut Redwood after defeating him.
Kirk continued down his path but was handed loss after loss trying to be a good man. He refused to take cheap shots, refused to get too insulting, basically doing nothing major. Now though, he sees that he needs that killer instinct. There is nothing he can do for his daughter except conquer the company. Like an animal, he’s lashing out with the intent to maim and crack open his opponents. Bar what he deems cowardly tactics, there is NO LENGTH he will not go to in order to bring a title home to his daughter and girlfriend.
Tendency to cheat: Occasionally, but never for the finish. Only to break away or push off an opponent.
Favorite Match: Fight Pit/MMA Rules
Least Favorite Match: any match where he doesn’t have to be the one pinned to lose
Favorite Weapon: Brass knuckles

Notes/Booking Info: Redwood tends to stay hyper focused on the opponent, reveling in the fight itself.
-While this may give him an advantage when dealing with opponent within conventional means, it also means he’s open to surprise attacks and improvised tactics.

-Redwood moves like an animal in the ring, attacking without mercy or hesitation. He wants his opponent to be hurt.
-Redwood likes to see his opponents and himself bleed. To him, it’s a sign that he delivered the message.
-He tries to stay disciplined, but when he's frustrated, he may snap and try to hurt his opponent before collecting his wits.

Notes: Amanda Miller, affectionately called “Red” by Kirk, is an addiction counselor. Kirk saved her from her ex-husbands assault. As an addict herself, she sympathizes with Kirk. Here role is mostly to ground Kirk in reality. She reminds him of what he has to lose and why he’s letting loose a little. Amanda prefers to stay out of the action, cheering on Kirk. Seeing the good in him though, she will still be there to stop him when he crosses the line. From Kirk’s view, she is an angel. This means that he views her as a savior figure. He revers her like a Goddess.*
